Hamilton Park is positioned to leave an everlasting testament for Black people in America. Fifty‐four years ago, a few good men had a vision and sowed seeds in a small, black neighborhood on the northern end of Dallas. Men and women, many of whom had bravely served their country in war time, moved into the neighborhood and started families. These families nurtured the seeds that had been planted and worked successfully together to build a community. Doctors, lawyers, engineers, scientists, entrepreneurs, artists, architects, scholars and business men/women sprang up from this community.

 

We must now work together to preserve the rich history of Hamilton Park and leave a legacy of a true African American community. To be successful, the Hamilton Park family will have to work together ‐ as it has so many times before ‐ to accomplish its goals. Whether it was raising money to buy uniforms for the Mighty Bobcats or soliciting the RISD for school equipment and learning tools, the men and women of Hamilton Park worked together successfully for a common cause.

To capitalize on the spirit of family and togetherness, a new organization has been formed to serve the needs of our community. Formed with the blessings of your pastors, Civic League, and elders of our community, the Hamilton Park Historic Preservation Foundation ("HPHPF") is here to protect and preserve the best interests of Hamilton Park.

HPHPF members are the descendants of the good men and women that built families here and are dedicated to work on behalf of the community. We love Hamilton Park, and suspect that many of you do too. By standing together as a community, we will be in a position to negotiate pricing for our land, determine the speed of the project, and negotiate redevelopment issues to preserve the rich history of Hamilton Park.

Stand with us now by giving us the permission to collectively sell and redevelop our community. By doing so, you will allow us to preserve our history and leave a legacy that will be enjoyed by your children’s grandchildren.
